8. Joseph James 'Joe' RICHEY

Death Certificate says that Joe Richey died in June. Tombstone says May, 1925 Two death cetificates were filed for Joseph Richey, one by W. Dunn and one by Joseph Miller Richey his grandson. I believe the latter.


11. Elizabeth Catherine 'Lizzy' GAINES

Source: "From Hill To Dale To Hollow" Death Cetrificate gives Date of death as Jan. 27 1922, tombstone reads, Jan, 24, 1922. Date of birth is given as Sept. 18, 1849 -- tombstone reads Sept. 18, 1950


12. James Ellis MILLER

Served in the South Carolina Legislature.
Accidental burn on leg while burning leaves in front yard.
Noted farmer and family man. He and Rachel Gibson lived with his parents, Ferdinand and Martha Ann Ellis Miller, for the first couple of years of marriage.
James Ellis Miller was left 2000 marks by his aunt in Germany with which he bought the land on Miller Road.
The Miller house on Miller Road was built about 1880 and stayed in the family until the mid 1950's.


13. Rachel Thomas GIBSON

When her mother died, She was raised by Major Lide Coker.


14. James Gray MCCANDLISH

James Gray McCandlish married Lelia Jane Vaughan, daughter of Major Benjamin Boisseau Vaughan of Petersburg, VA.
Died of Consumption -- TB.

15. Lelia Jane VAUGHAN

Had a nannie who stayed with her after she was married. Called her "Mammie".
Aunt said she loved Mammie as much as she did her mother.
